Heikenen improves results during the pandemic

The business accounts of this multinational corporation also performed well during the first half of the year

Despite the pandemic, Heineken España grew in terms of beer sold, mainly due to excellence sales volumes in the hospitality industry, where sales increased over 20%. In addition, company representatives say that “the business volume during the first semester increased 8.3%, amounting to $11.86 billion”. These numbers show that, even if the pandemic has not been totally left behind, Heineken seems to have found the road to recovery.

As for overall business accounts, the Dutch brewery which owns an important plant in Seville, had a significant net profit increase, reaching €1.22 billion in the first semester. This increase resulted mostly from “gradual lifting of market restrictions applied last year to contain the spread of Covid-19”, as pointed out by company sources. “Recovery is not uniform in all world areas and some countries continue to experience new virus variants and waves which have resulted in new restrictions, especially in Asia-Pacific and Africa”. In the case of Spain, numbers a back to green and sales are growing strong.
