Puerto Real 1 will be one of the largest solar plants in Spain

Planned project phases will contribute to the creation of 300 jobs

WElink, important renewable developer, just reached an agreement to sell the 133-MW Puerto Real 1 project to Clean Energy Infrastructure, subsidiary of Capital Dynamics and independent company managing private assets worldwide. According to WElink representatives, Puerto Real 1 is a major operation for WELink, representing a key milestone as a non-subsidized project in the Spanish market. This operation confirms the relevance of Spanish renewable energy for international investors and the increasing interest of this highly active market.

It is estimated that once in operation, this plant will reduce greenhouse emissions in over 175,000 metric tons, equivalent to the yearly emissions of 38,000 passenger vehicles or to the power needed to supply power to nearly 30,000 households a year. About 300 workers will be employed during the service life of this project, mostly from the local area.
