Reasons
to invest

The Andalusian Logistics and Transport sector plays a key role in the economy, both in terms of import / export traffic and commerce, as well as in national and international mobility of people. The development of this industry is linked to the economic development of other production sectors, namely those requiring more movement of primary materials, processed products or consumer goods. Andalusia’s logistics network covers an area of 1,800 hectares and includes 11 logistics centers (7 in ports and 4 inland) connected by land and sea with other markets, providing companies with a significant logistical efficiency.

The high capacity road network of Andalusia is fully integrated and connected with the new railway corridors, favoring quick, dynamic connectivity of the entire logistical network with the main consumer centers of Spain, Central Europe and Northern Africa. This feature is paramount for industries requiring fast, safe and profitable product distribution.

Interconnecting Transport Modes

Andalusia works in an increasingly more complete logistical development based on intermodal transport that connects road, railway, sea and air infrastructures.

Appealing for Foreign Investments

Half of Spain's duty-free zones are in Andalusia, an interesting advantage for companies operating here.

In terms of sea traffic, Andalusia is the first Spanish region to manage over 100 million metric tons of freight yearly (some 25% of the country’s port operations). Although Andalusia has 10 sea ports, Algeciras is certainly in a category of its own when it comes to container traffic, being the absolute leader in Spain and number five in Europe.

Furthermore, five of the six Andalusian airports have international connections, managing an annual passenger volume nearing 20 million people. In the selection of Andalusia as host of the Railway Innovation Center, the ICT sector played a key role to further technify the logistics industry and drive the future development of our region.
