The Swedish capital fund formalized recently an agreement to become the main shareholder of Freepik, leading company in digital graphic resources.

Set up in 2010, Freepik provides service to 32 million users monthly in over 200 markets, offering a portfolio comprising more than 10 million icons, vectors, pictures and templates, among other resources. Thanks to the 5,000 million downloads made by Freepik users to date, the company identifies user consumption patterns and interests by means of smart data technologies and artificial intelligence. Freepik is a worldwide leader in its segment and main supplier freemium of digital visual contents at a global scale.

As for EQT, multinational Swedish firm with over €62,000 million in raised capital, they have expressed their eagerness to support Freepik’s international growth through their global presence, digital industry knowledge and experience in the development of high-performing technological firms. EQT aims to boost Freepik’s penetration into markets such as the US and Asia, with the aim to establish it as a reference platform and market leader for online content creators and users.
