This record occurred in parallel to another milestone of this mining site: processing 15.8 metric tons of treat mineral onsite, a million more than in 2020. The company explained they expect to maintain production levels between 54,000 and 56.000 metric tons of copper in 2022, provided increasing power generation prices come to an end.
To maximize production and efficiency, Atalaya Mining intends to build a new plant equipped with E-LIX technology and to increase their prospecting budget to nearly €10 million in 2022. The company is also making progress in terms of sustainability, developing projects to optimize operations and reduce both energy consumption and CO2 emissions.
